Skalpel from Poland is performing at Jazz in the Park 2017, as a local premiere. With their original hip hop and jazz style, Skalpel brings Polish jazz back to life, by using samples from the ‘60s and ‘70s in their current tunes. Many of their first recordings were done illegally, in Communist Poland, where jazz was prohibited. However, they resisted, they released many albums and in 2004 they were nominated for the Giles Peterson’s Worldwide Music Award.
The entrance at the concerts in the Central Park and on the Someș River bank is free. An event supported by the Polish Institute of Bucharest.
Saturday, July 1st, 9 PM, Central Park.
