Today music comes out in the streets and then returns to the Museum. On Monday, the 25th of June, the concerts will take place in 3 separate locations: the Eroilor Street, the Matthias House and the inner courtyard or the Art Museum, meaning more music and more artists to enjoy.
Dan Byron, Heion Solo, Indjstione, Mistah White, Văzduh și JazzyBIT will bring the sound of jazz, rock, disco, funk, indie, hip-hop and trip-hop in the streets – on the Eroilor Street, to be more precise. The concerts start at 17:30 and we’ll have the occasion to enjoy not only the various styles, but also the individuality of each of the six artists that are now prepared to express their perceptions and beliefs through music.
The House of Matthias Corvinus is one of the oldest and most important architectural attractions in Cluj-Napoca. Built in the transitional period between Gothic and Renaissance, the House of Matthias Corvinus is located in the heart of the old town, in the Museum’s Market, and today, starting 5:30 p.m., six concerts will be held there: Matei Crețiu Codreanu, Renata Burcă, Andreea Secrieriu & Radu Leu, Sidewalk Troubadours, Ana Munteanu Trio and Adam Ben Ezra.
We respect people’s decision to protest in the streets these days for the values in which they believe, this is why we decided to shorten today’s street art programme that was supposed to happen close to the protest.
This being the case, the Jazz in the Street programme from Eroilor Boulevard and Matthias Corvinus House will take place between 17:00 and 19:00, instead of 17:30-22:00.
The artists that we won’t get to see today will be rescheduled for the Betfair stage in Central Park, from Thursday until Sunday.
Get ready to listen to both newcomers passionate about jazz, reinterpreting and liberty of expression and more experienced artists like Adam Ben Ezra, a double bass phenomenon, whose goal is to reinvent the status of his instrument and draw the public’s attention to it. The access is free for the street concerts.
At 8 p.m. we meet up yet again at the Art Museum for the MUSEcology concert, a surprising romanian-made musical mash-up.
Muse Quartet’s disident girls oscillate wildly and courageously between styles and are not afraid to give classical music a modern feel. Silent Strike has won his notoriety as an electronic music and film soundtrack composer. However, today we’ll have the opportunity to listen to his tracks with a twist.
There’s no need to say much more about Lucia other than the fact that she’s started her career with a video camera in her parents’ balcony. Her talent and her charisma were so great, that her impromptu promoting was sufficient to gain visibility.
We’ve been listening to the alternative rock poets from byron ever since 2006. With the highly recognisable voice of Dan Byron, the modern-day lyricism and their haunting musicality, byron have not only created a surprisingly original band-semiology, but have also succeeded in reflecting some of those common feelings that are so hard to describe. You can find tickets for the MUSEcology concert here.
