Barcelona Gipsy Balkan Orchestra, the nomads of the Klezmer, Jazz Manouche and Romani music
Barcelona Gipsy Balkan Orchestra will open the Jazz in the Park Festival, June 26th, at the Hungarian Opera. The group is for the first time in Romania and its members are artists from all over Europe: Serbia, Ukraine, France, Spain, Italy and Greece.
Barcelona Gipsy Balkan Orchestra has many musical influences, particularly Klezmer, Jazz Manouche and traditional Romani music. They present themselves as
the “nomads” of music. In 2013, they released their first album, which they produced themselves, without the help of any record label.
In 2015, they released their own interpretation of the song “Djelem, Djelem”, one of the reference songs in Romani culture, which reached over 4,500,000 YouTube views.
