Considered one of the Spanish young artists called to hit the Jazz scene. Joy, rhythm, strength, passion and magic. A music proposal committed to quality and rigor.
Lucia Rey is a multi-faceted artist, pianist and composer; she studied modern music at the Conservatory in Madrid, specializing in Latin piano and Jazz in Cuba, and later in New York, where she studied with teachers such as Bruce Barth, Barry Harris, Bob Quaranta, and where she worked as a pianist in different projects of the New York Jazz scene.
Especially outstanding are her works as pianist and music direction cover in Madrid musicals (“Hoy no me puedo levantar’, “A quién le importa”). She has also taken part in Jazz, Flamenco and World Music festivals with all over the world.
The consistency of her compositions is nowadays presented in Trio format. She released her debut record “Reflexion” at the beginning of 2017; a mixed work in which it is possible to understand the variety of musical influences the artist has collected along her career, interpreted with a free spirit that has allowed her to create a unique and transparent musical proposal.
The repertoire of the concerts she performs includes Latin music and Flamenco-Jazz filtered by a contemporary vocation; but also include several capital works in the history of Jazz, interpreted from a point of view rich in hues and stimulus which characterizes this artist and that the public perceives in each of her improvisations.
Since its release, ‘Reflexion’ has been presented at prestigious festivals and Jazz clubs in Spain (Jazz Filloa in A Coruña, Sala Clamores, Bogui Jazz and Café Berlin in Madrid, Festival Off in Vitoria, Malaga Open International Jazz Festival, Alhaurín de la Torre Jazz Festival) with the critical acclaim and great reception by the public.
